After a 14 month delay Futsal209 finally took the court in Las Vegas to compete in the United Futsal Champions Cup Series West Regionals. By the end of the weekend the club had secured it's first major trophy and five medals.
United Futsal is the highest level of youth futsal in the United States. Futsal209 is one of only 24 United Futsal clubs in the country and the only one in the Central Valley. The West Region boasts many of the top teams in the nation. It was one of those top clubs, Toque, that the Foxes defeated for their first major trophy.
The Futsal209 08 Girls went 3-1 on the weekend defeating Toque in penalty kicks before a crowd of over 300 people to finish in 3rd Place in Division I. The other Futsal209 girls team to take home a medal was the 06 Girls who finished 2nd in Division II to Colorado Rapids.
All three Futsal209 boys teams representing the Central Valley took home medals. The 10 Boys and 12 Boys Navy each finished 3rd in Division III. The 12 Boys Neon lost in the Division III final in an exciting match against Anthem from Sacramento to finish 2nd.
Next up the Futsal209 teams will prepare to compete at CCS Nationals and the Futsal World Championships in Orlando Florida at the end of July.
